Set Building Mechanical Systems Preferences (group
box)

Controls in this group box set preferences for
AccuSnap and Mechanical discipline hints and hint labels.

AccuSnap
hints are created for Mechanical discipline components when on.

hint labels display when on. This setting is disabled when Display AccuSnap
Hints is turned off.

Controls in this group box set preferences for
hints that display key
DataGroup System
properties associated with Mechanical discipline components.
Example of
Flyover hints properties: Family, Part and Dimensions - set by default and
Pressure Class, Air Flow and Catalog Item are set manually
- Family Name — The
family name is displayed in the hint when on.
- Part Name — The
part name is displayed in the hint when on.
- Dimensions — The
dimensions are displayed in the hint when on.
- Clear Opening — The
clear opening dimensions are displayed in the hint when on. Applicable for
ducts and duct components.
- Shape — The shape
attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Insulation — The
insulation attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Lining — The lining
attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Material — The
material attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Status — The status
attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Catalog Type — The
catalog type attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Catalog Item — The
catalog item attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- System ID — The
system identification attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Air Flow — The air
flow attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Pressure Class —
The pressure class attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Top of Duct/Pipe —
The elevation at the top of the component (duct/pipe) is displayed in the hint
when on.
- Center of Duct/Pipe
— The elevation at the center of the component is displayed in the hint when
on.
- Bottom of Duct/Pipe
— The elevation at the bottom of the component is displayed in the hint when
on.
- Placement Point —
The placement point attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Slope Value — The
slope value attribute is displayed in the hint when on.
- Invert Level — The
invert level attributes in the form of elevation at end point(s) of sloped
pipes is displayed in the hint when on.
- Duct Sizing Note —
The duct sizing note attribute is displayed in the hint when on, if available
for the component.
Tip: The Duct Sizing Note is the
Comment added in the
Duct Sizing utility for the cells in the Duct Element
column.

Options
|
Miscellaneous application options are located here.
- Heads Up Display in
view — Select a view from the drop down list to assign as the working view
dedicated for Heads Up Display modifications. Default is view 8.
- Confirm discipline
change during command — When on, a message appears confirming a change in the
active discipline when applicable.
- Automatically
add end caps — When on, attaches the end caps automatically to the open ends on
3D duct/pipe during placement. Further, if any fittings or component is
attached to the duct/pipe ends, then the end caps are removed to accommodate
connections for other fittings.

Drawing
|
Pipe turn down size settings to display in drawing.
- Pipe turn down size:
— Sets pipe turn down size in a drawing to one of the below options:
- Size: — Enables for
Percentage and Fixed modes; sets the value for Pipe turn down size.
Note: The variable
BMECH_PIPE_TURNDOWN_SIZE controls
the pipe turn down size preference, where the mode set to fixed with the
specified size helps achieving a consistent graphical output across entire
project or organization.
